The 3 W’s to Reduce the Risk of COVID
To fight COVID, wearing a mask is doing the right thing. It can save your life and the life of someone you love. Mask up for your children, parents, grandparents, friends and neighbors. Staying safe is all our responsibility.
Before shopping for affordable health coverage, here are some things to keep in mind.
Know the Deadlines
You can still enroll! A new enrollment period was announced, and you can enroll with Healthcare.gov through May 15. Many states have reopened their doors, so find your state to see if you can still enroll.
Check for Financial Help
You may be eligible for financial help to pay for your coverage even if you think you don’t qualify. Check to see what is available in your state to make your coverage more affordable.
It’s Not Just About Your Premium — Look at the Total Cost
While selecting a plan, understand how much your coverage will cost for both the monthly premium and the potential out-of-pocket costs you may need to spend when you get care. Things like deductibles, copays and coinsurance could mean that the plan with the cheapest premium may not be the right plan for you.
Understand Your Health Needs
Think about you and your family’s care needs, including prescription drugs you take, or whether your preferred doctor is in the plan’s network. Find a plan that is the best fit in terms of cost, quality and coverage.
Get Free Help
You can get free, confidential help to get financial assistance and enroll in a health plan. Check with your state to see what help is available where you live.
